Why start with these Spanish words?

Spanish rewards beginners faster than almost any language: it is spoken by over 500 million people across Spain and Latin America, and it is phonetic — once you know the sounds, every word is pronounced exactly as written. The decks above front-load the vocabulary you will actually use in your first conversations: greeting someone, counting, ordering food, finding your way. Learn ten words a day with spaced repetition and within two weeks you will recognise hundreds of words in real Spanish. One tip: say every word aloud as you flip the card — Spanish vowels are short and pure (a, e, i, o, u never change), and training your mouth early pays off for years.

How to study these decks

Read a deck below to preview every word, then sign up free to study it with spaced repetition — the method that schedules each card back right before you would forget it. Ten words a day is the sweet spot: enough to progress fast, small enough to sustain. Say each word out loud as you go, and practise English → Spanish as well as the easier direction, because that is the one that lets you speak. For the method behind it, see our guide to learning a language with flashcards.
