Swedish is regularly ranked among the easiest languages for English speakers: the grammar is lean (verbs do not change by person — jag är, du är, vi är), word order feels familiar, and hundreds of words are near-identical to English. The decks above cover the vocabulary Swedes actually use daily — hej for hello, tack for thanks, the numbers, food and travel words. Two sounds deserve early practice: the Swedish "sj" (as in sju, seven) and the vowels å, ä, ö, which are separate letters at the end of the alphabet.
